One in four Australian children aged five years and under are overweight or obese. This program promoted healthful lifestyle behaviours to prevent obesity in children and families attending playgroups.
Young children are no exception when it comes to the importance of friendships and social interaction for maintaining good health and well-being. This COVID-19 research project involves surveying parents and monitoring how their young children are coping during this time of social distancing.
The BEACHES project aims to provide high quality evidence of aspects of the built environment which can be modified to reduce the negative impact on children’s physical activity, eating behaviours and weight status.
