Frequently Asked Questions

No. Recruitment to the CIRCA DIEM Study has now been completed. A total of 869 babies were enrolled across participating hospitals.

How is participant information protected?

All information collected as part of the CIRCA DIEM study is stored securely and handled in accordance with approved ethics and privacy requirements. Any information that could identify you or your baby will remain confidential and is only accessible to authorised members of the research team.

What happens now that the study has finished recruiting?

The research team is continuing to complete the two-year follow-up assessments and analyse study data. These analyses will help determine whether supporting the development of circadian rhythms in very preterm infants improves health and developmental outcomes.

How will the study results be shared?

The initial results describing outcomes in the neonatal period are expected to be announced at the end of 2026.
